detected a special kind of long-term

Professor Heinz Leymann, PhD, MD

During the 60ts, a Swedish practitioner detected a special kind of long-term hostile behavior in children at school. He called this, using an English term "mobbing". At the beginning of the 80s, Professor Heinz Leymann found the same type of long-term hostile behavior in employees in workplaces. Since then, Professor Heinz Leymann is the leading international expert on this topic: mobbing in the workplaces.

Professor Heinz Leymann was born July 17th 1932 in Wolfenbüttel, Germany, but has lived in Sweden since 1955 and is a Swedish citizen. He holds a doctor´s degree in Pedagogical Psychology (as the science of learning psychology is called in Sweden when the scholar also studies learning procedures). He has an MD sci (doctor of medical science) in Psychiatry, a doctor´s degree, which in North America and Scandinavia, does not involve having a license as a practising physician. In his clinical and diagnostical work, Professor Heinz Leymann is working as a licensed psychologist. He is a professor in work sciences at Umeċ University.

Thanks to his merits as a scientist, Professor Heinz Leymann has wide experience with mobbing victims as his patients. He has treated, so far, about 1,300 of these patients, 300 of them as in-patients in a clinic with specially designed treatment programs. At this time, the clinic is no longer in existence. Unfortunately, no other clinic uses the very efficient treatment program developed by Professor Heinz Leymann and his associates. This Internet homepage was developed to make these programs available.
